If you have always wanted to learn Salsa dancing or to improve your dance with enhanced styling, musicality and partnering skills, this 2-hour workshop will keep you moving and dancing with confidence in no time.
SALSA BEGINNER CRASH COURSE introduces basic vocabularies and fundamentals to NY club-style Salsa (dancing to tumbao and clave). Topics include history, music, timing, movement, partnering details and social dance etiquette. The goal is to learn basics elements of club-style social dancing.

Basic Beginner Fundamentals: Intro to Timing, Movement & Partnerwork: Level 1 introduces basic vocabularies and fundamentals to NY club-style Salsa. Topics include timing, footwork, body movements, partnering details & dance etiquette. No dance experience required. Open to newbies, false beginners who have not danced for a while, or home grown/street style/on1 dancers learning club-style partner dancing.

Advance Beginner Essentials: Speed, Musicality & Turn Pattern Combo: More advance material will be covered with emphasis on speed, footwork and play in turn patterns. At this level, it is mandatory to have good fundamentals, balance, coordination and knowledge of all basic steps, R/L Turns, CLB and structures (leading & following technique) of NYon2 Mambo. Open to active social dancers with beyond basics techniques.
Class starts with warm up and body movements to various Salsa rhythms, body movements, steps (shines), turns drills, dancing to various tempo (from slow to fast); followed by turn patterns, lead/follow technique and partnering details.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes or workout gear that you can move in. Bring bottle water, towel and change of clothing if you tend to sweat.
What shoes to wear?
Beginners can start with street shoes and any leather, smooth bottom soles or dance sneakers. Ladies can wear flats, dance sneakers, ballet/jazz shoes or medium height heels. (PLEASE DO NOT WEAR stilettos or heels higher than 4"). Avoid any kind of work boots, heavy clogs or rubber sole that restricts feet movement.
LATIN DANCE WORKSHOPS
Club style Latin Dance- An introductory course to popular club-style Latin social dance - Cha Cha Cha, Merengue, Bachata, Raggaeton. No dance experience required. The goal is to develop principles of timing, partnering skills, basic foot work, variations of turn patterns and to move with confidence on the dance floor. Never sit down at a dance party anymore!
Guajira Cha Cha Partnerwork with Shines & Styling
Cha Cha Cha is a cousin of Salsa dance with slower tempo that emphasizes musicality, body movements and footwork. This course gives a foundation of Cha Cha timing combined with Afro-Cuban body movements, open shines, ladies & men's styling and multiple spins technique in partner work.
Both male and female students will learn proper technique to execute multiple spins - solo or with partners - with weekly spinning drills. Salsa students will also find Cha Cha footwork very helpful to execute multiple traveling turns, dancing to slower music. No need to bring partners.
